The Labor Relations function of the Human Resources Department is dedicated to improve employee productivity through the development of harmonious working relationships with employees and employee labor organizations. To that end, the Human Resources staff serves as the lead in partnering with labor unions to address the needs of the City and its employees and represents the City during contract negotiations, meet and confer sessions, and joint labor-management committee meetings.
The City of Riverside’s Human Resources Department recognizes that the development of harmonious working relationships is an on-going process and that each labor management meeting is an opportunity to work at the process of building trust between management and employees, and labor union representatives. This trust is the cornerstone of a creative, collaborative organization that will more effectively meet its goals, which for the City means better service for the residents of Riverside.
