The City of Riverside’s Internship Programs provide motivated college students and recent graduates with a unique learning experience in local government. Interns can expect to work alongside seasoned City employees and contribute their talents to a variety of projects. Not only will Interns learn from their department colleagues but they will also have an opportunity to interact with Interns throughout the City every month during the Riverside Intern Power Hour. In these Programs, Interns will learn, collaborate, and build lasting relationships every step of the way!
- Department Onboarding: Using the Department Onboarding Checklist, you will be acclimated to the organization, department, and your specific role
- Daily Work Duties: You will be involved in projects that expose you to the realities of working in a public agency while creating an impact
- Continuous Learning and Relationship Building: You will be invited to attend a monthly meeting with other City Interns to learn about a variety of career development topics or participate in a department site visit
- Recognition: Each year, we will celebrate the efforts of City Interns on National Intern Day
- End of Assignment: At the end of the internship, you will be invited to complete a survey so that we can learn what worked well and what areas we should consider improving. Those who perform well may receive a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. As an added benefit for unpaid Interns, a Certificate of Completion from the City Manager’s Office will be provided
With all of these great opportunities, be sure to stay informed of new openings! Create a governmentjobs.com profile. Complete a “Job Interest Card” under "Menu' and choose the category of "Internship."
